Dr David Cowburn BEng PhD DMS MBB

With over 25 years of running and managing businesses in telematics, automotive, engineering and security at Managing Director level, David has a track record of managing rapid business and operational process improvement within a diverse range of domestic and international market sectors and cultures.

Originally trained as a supply partner to Toyota, David continued his Lean development with blue-chip companies such as GKN, McKechnie, Williams and Yale. With McKechnie he ran the ‘Lean Business Program’ and at Williams held CEO positions with newly acquired businesses, leading rapid change and integration programs. David is an experienced Lean coach and is a Lean Six Sigma certified Master Black Belt.

David specialises in leading and supporting organisations to implement a lasting Lean culture and practices and as a Lean Six Sigma master black belt, manages projects requiring in-depth analysis and data centric solutions.

His hands-on style enable him to advise or operate at both shop floor and board/management levels on a wide range of business issues and provides a high value added service to our clients.

• Williams Plc - Business Executive Special Operations – Turnaround and integration of newly acquired businesses to the Group, including Cash in Transit, fire equipment, locks and security, paint processes, head office administration
• McKechnie Plc – Business Improvement Executive – responsible for group wide implementation of Lean in over 50 subsidiaries and setting up and leading the McKechnie Lean Business Program school of excellence
